Top 20 Blindside Songs
I have been very much looking forward to making this list of the best Blindside songs because I hope that it helps get more eyes and ears on this band. Of all the bands that I follow and have really gotten into, I would venture to say that Blindside is the most underrated of them all. Maybe it is because they are from a small country (Sweden), maybe it is because they don’t get much radio airplay here in the States, maybe it is lack of support from their record label. I am not sure the reason but I do know that Blindside is a great band with now a collection of 6 studio albums and one standout EP. Lead singer Christian Lindskog writes some of the best and most heart-felt lyrics in rock music today and Blindside is a must see live band.
In my opinion, Blindside’s best work and best album was their third album, 2002’s Silence. This remains one of my all-time favorite albums (ranking at #2 on my Top 50 Favorite Albums of All-time) and I think the majority of Blindside fans would agree this is their best album. This list has more songs (6) from that album than any other but, of course, Blindside has some great material scattered on their other albums, 2004’s About A Burning Fire, 2005’s The Great Depression, 2007’s The Black Rose EP, and their comeback album, 2011’s With Shivering Hearts We Wait.
So how did I approach making this list of the 20 best Blindside songs? Like other Top 20 lists I have published here on Music Trajectory, I like to think of this list as ‘Blindside’s Greatest Hits’ meets ‘if I had a $20 iTunes gift card to spend on Blindside songs, which ones should I buy?’
- Research around the web
- How well the songs charted on Billboard and similar charts
- The overall popularity of the songs (Youtube video views, top iTunes/Amazon tracks, lists I found on message boards and blogs, etc.)
- The sheer awesomeness of the songs
- Some elements of my opinion and people that I know who love Blindside
- The potential to fall in love with the song
- Songs that the band consistently play live

I love Blindside! I thought the video for King of the Closet was the coolest thing ever when I was a kid. Was so excited to see the video for Pitiful on MTV.
“With shivering hearts we wait” is a criminally underrated album.
Absolutely!
