Rise Against ‘I Don’t Want To Be Here Anymore’ – The Song of the Week for 6/16/2014
Released June 9, 2014 via DGC Records, “I Don’t Want To Be Here Anymore” is the 1st single from The Black Market, the upcoming 7th studio album by Rise Against
It is always a great week when the lead single from a new album by one of your all-time favorite bands is released! Prior to release there are the months you have to wait to hear any news from the studio where the band is recording the new album. Then there are the weeks you have to wait until there is news of the actual single release date. And then you have to wait until the day arrives when you actually get to listen to the song. Well, the long wait is over Rise Against fans and if you follow Music Trajectory’s Twitter Page, you got a link to listen to the song several hours before it was released on any widely used channels like Spotify or Youtube. Now its been several days since release which has given ample time to listen to the song several times and I have to say it is a strong single. I am anxious to hear from other fans of the band. How does this single match up to say, their last album’s debut single “Help Is On The Way”? How does it match up to the rest of the band’s discography? Keep in mind that the band is most likely forced by their record label to release a song with the best chance for successful radio airplay as the first single.

“On hand and foot we answered every single call
Weathered every day like passing storms
But when we break we will all be goneWon’t back down, won’t take no for answers anymore
These walls close, we pace back and forthI don’t want to be here anymore
I know there’s nothing left worth staying for”
