The Colourist “We Won’t Go Home” – The Song of the Week for 2/10/2014

Released in February 2014 via Universal Records, “We Won’t Go Home” is the 2nd single from the upcoming self-titled debut album by The Colourist

Genre: Indie Rock, Indie Pop, Math Pop

Hailing from Orange County, CA, The Colourist is readying their debut self-title album, currently set to be released March 25, 2014. The album contains all 4 songs that were on their debut EP Lido.

The band has a fresh sound but fits in nicely with other indie rock/indie pop bands and “We Won’t Go Home” is one of the catchiest songs of 2014 so far. By the way, can that girl drum or what? Check out the end of the live video above where the band plays around with an instrumental cover of Slayer’s “Angel of Death”.

Does The Colourist have what it takes to be an indie rock staple for years to come? What are your expectations of the debut album? Sound off in the comments section below and tweet me @MusicTrajectory

“These pictures they make it easy
To think what we were
We can be from far away
We can be alone

I said “Hey, where are you going?”
Well I don’t know
But truly you can see
We’re moving way too slow”
