Pretty much every song chosen as a Song of the Week selection is brand new. Sometimes though, a song takes a while to pick up steam and get popular and then out of nowhere it is a hit. “Elephant” is one of those songs. A sleeper-hit of 2013 indeed. Released just over a year ago, this song can currently be heard on most rock and alternative radio stations across the country, with most people thinking “whoa, that was song was really good, who the hell is that?” Featuring a main guitar riff similar to something you would hear from The Black Keys, this song chugs along and features some unique psychedelic interludes as well. A snug fit in this collection of awesome songs I call the Songs of the Week.

“He pulled the mirrors off his Cadillac
‘Cause he doesn’t like it looking like he looks back
He talks like his opinion is a simple factSomebody grabbed his collar
He cried the whole way home
He won’t remember a thing ’til they start againThat’s how it is ’til the end
Yeah”
