Primal Scream “Where the Light Gets In” | Song of the Week for February 22nd, 2016

“Where the Light Gets In” was released on February 1st, 2016 via Ignition records as the 1st single off of Chaosmosis, the 11h studio album by Primal Scream

Primal Scream is perhaps best known for their 1991 breakthrough album Screamadelica, an album that is now considered a classic.  There were a mainstay in the mid-80s indie pop scene with later records incorporating garage rock and psychedelic influences. Newer albums have taken on dance music elements and newest single “Where the Light Gets In” featured here is an 80’s new-wave-esque treat, featuring Sky Ferreira. I chose it as Song of the Week this week because its one of the catchiest songs I have heard here in 2016 so far. Enjoy!

Obsession, position
Temptation, transgression
We’re second, we’re active
The script is pre-destined
The show of sin
It’s your sin, peace begins within
