Week In Review: 2/27/2017 through 3/5/2017
What an awesome week for single releases! The Featured 5 was stacked with 5 very strong singles that should grab your attention. Lorde’s highly anticipated new single “Green Light” takes Song of the Week honors this week. Scrolling through the comments underneath the Youtube video is rather entertaining. Supergroup Dreamcar finally release debut single “Kill For Candy”, an 80’s throwback type sound with a fresh tinge. Their interview at KROQ is worth a view if you want to hear/see how the band got started.

Song of the Week
We have been anxiously awaiting new music from Lorde and we finally got the highly anticipated new single on Thursday night, a day ahead of when most new music gets released on Fridays.
“Green Light” features super catchy verses but the chorus might not hook everyone. Chatting with friends who have heard the song, it seems most are into it and the rest weren’t hooked – at least not yet. This song is a story and to get the story, you need to hear the song a few times. It’s a bit of a grower. The video helps – she does a great job acting out the emotions. I think its going to be a hit.
Light”You can’t go wrong when you release new music that sounds like your old stuff but has a freshness and clear progression in song writing. The keyboard build right before the chorus showcases this perfectly.
