Song of the Week: New Rancid single “Ghost of a Chance”

I added a total of 18 new singles released on Friday to the Best New Music of 2017 playlist – it was quite a week of new single releases. Of all these new singles, the one that stood out the most to me was the new Rancid single “Ghost of a Chance”.

Punk rock fans rejoice, this is a strong release by Rancid and fits in nicely with this punk rock music resurgence I have been noticing lately.

Rancid’s new album Trouble Maker is due out June 9th via Epitaph/Hellcat and marks the band’s 9th studio release and first since 2014’s …Honor Is All We Know. There were some good tracks on the album but I think most Rancid fans would agree that it was by far their weakest album to date. I have high hopes this new album will be stronger.

What is your take on the new single and expectations for the new album? Sound off in the comments section below or tweet to @MusicTrajectory

Well, maybe someday we’ll get a new start
You never grow too old to dream
Save the sermon for Sunday
‘Cause we’ll be back one day

You only got a ghost of a chance, my brother
You only got a ghost of a chance
