Magic! ‘Rude’ – The Song of the Week for 4/14/14

Released on October 11, 2013 via Sony Music Entertainment Records, “Rude” is the debut single by the Canadian reggae pop band Magic!

Why in the world haven’t I featured this song yet? I hadn’t come across it yet, that’s why! Well better late than never 😉

Lead singer Nasri Atweh, I am coming to find out, is a well-known song writer and record producer who and written for and produced artists such as Justin Bieber, Pitbull, Christina Aguilera, David Guetta and many more. What a talented dude! According to what I have heard from him in interviews, he felt it was time to do his own thing and come out with his own music. Reminds me of Michael Fitzpatrick coming out from ‘behind the glass’ to lead the hugely popular Fitz and the Tantrums.

“Rude” hit #1 in Australia earlier this year so it is already a huge hit there and also in New Zealand and Magic!’s home country of Canada. Will it catch on here in the States? I sure hope so! What do you think? Sound off in the comments section and tweet me @MusicTrajectory
