“Disparate Youth” by Santigold – The Song of the Week for 3/5/2012
“Disparate Youth” by Santigold is the 2nd song to be released from the new album Master of My Make-Believe
Genre: New Wave, Dub, Reggae Fusion, Electronic, Pop, Hip Hop
Perhaps you caught wind of Santigold during the buzz of her amazing 1st album Santogold released back in 2008. She is back with a new album Master of My Make-Believe set to be released April 23, 2012. “Disparate Youth” is the 2nd song to be released from the new album (“Big Mouth” was the 1st) but, as of now, it is the official 1st single from the album. In my opinion, a much better song than “Big Mouth” and more true to form!
“Don’t look ahead, there’s stormy weather
Another roadblock in our way
But if we go, we go together
Our hands are tied here, if we stayOh, we set our dreams to carry us
In the middle where we were one
Now we push right past to find out
Or either win what they have lost”
