Death From Above 1979 ‘Trainwreck 1979’ – The Song of the Week for 9/29/2014
Released July 8, 2014 via Warner Bros Records, “Trainwreck 1979” is the 1st single off of The Physical World, the 2nd studio album by Death From Above 1979
Canadian rock duo Death From Above 1979 are back from a breakup that split them up from 2006 to 2011 and have one killer album on their hands. I present to you the lead single “Trainwreck 1979” off this comeback album The Physical World. Got a Spotify account? You can of course listen to the album in it’s entirety.
“Trainwreck 1979” is one of those infectious indie-rock/alternative songs that you hopefully will catch on the radio but your local station might gloss over this band. The song might end up in some cool Apple commercial or something along those lines (if it hasn’t already!).
The next single from the album is called “Government Trash” and can be seen below (it’s a live version so you can get a feel for how the band comes across live!)

“I was born on the highway in a trainwreck
With a heart that was beating outta my chest
So now if I follow it around the world I can’t keep up
If I don’t get it soon I know I’ll bleed until I drop‘Cause I want it all, I can’t get enough
‘Cause I want it all, I can’t get enough”
