Coldplay ‘Magic’ – The Song of the Week for 3/17/2014

Released March 3, 2014 via Parlophone records, “Magic” is the lead single off of Ghost Stories, the 6th studio album by Coldplay

I applaud Coldplay for doing something different. And why not? The first two songs released off this upcoming Ghost Stories album are amazing. Coldplay first released a song and video called “Midnight” (Youtube link here) and I was expecting it to be the first single off the album. But alas it isn’t; here comes “Magic” exactly a week later and is now being called the official lead single. Even though “Midnight” will grow on you, “Magic” is definitely the stronger song, at least for single release purposes.
