Wolf Alice “Moaning Lisa Smile” – The Song of the Week for June 8, 2015

Released via RCA records as the 1st single off of their 2014 EP Creature Songs, “Mona Lisa Smile” is hot on the alternative charts here in 2015

In case you haven’t been acquainted yet, let me introduce you to Wolf Alice. They have a hot single in “Moaning Lisa Smile” that is currently #20 on Billboard’s Alternative Rock chart. The song was released back in 2014 from their Creature Songs EP but the song was a slow burn – often times the case with a brand new band. Their debut album My Love Is Cool is set to be released here in the states on June 22nd.

Wolf Alice hails from North London and their sound is a blend of alternative and indie rock. To me they sound like a 90s grunge band mixed with the currently popular indie rock sound, perhaps inspired by bands like Hole and Elastica.
