Metric ‘The Shade’ – The Song of the Week for May 25, 2015

Released May 11, 2015 via Mom + Pop Music, “The Shade” is the first single off of Metric’s upcoming 6th studio album

Not much is known about Metric’s upcoming 6th studio album besides it being announced that they would tour with Imagine Dragons in the summer then embark on a headling tour alongside releasing the new album. As of right now, it seems like a late 2015 release. How about this lead single “The Shade”? I think it is pretty damn good. A cool video game-esque intro and a catchy song in general that showcases one of the best qualities of this band: Emily Haines‘ lyrics. It is easily predicted this will be a strong single for the band. Check out a recent live performance below.
